As part of our mission, we are committed to helping students grow in all areas of their life and achieving maximum integration of the things they are learning in their classes. Part of this is practically applied as students live in community with each other and the greater community of Calgary. We are located in a residential area. Most of our students live together in households in the area – there are plenty of basement suites, apartments, and houses for rent in the area. Once you decided that you are going to attend, I could connect you with other students and together we could locate some sort of housing, depending on what you need and want. So far it has worked out fantastic! Often it is even more cost effective than students living in on campus housing elsewhere!

Alberta Bible College is committed to the spiritual formation of each student – heart, soul, mind, and strength. With a gymnasium right on campus students have the opportunity to engage in any number of athletic activities including basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, or soccer. Squash is another favourite among students and staff with an open court ready and available at almost any time.

Beyond the walls of our campus Alberta Bible College also provides sporadic opportunities for outdoor adventure with our very own experienced guide: Brad Olorenshaw. Finally, situated only a five minute walk from Confederation Park you cannot go wrong; here there is endless space for walking, joggling, biking, or simply enjoying the natural environment in the midst of a crowded city. There are also nearby facilities that support hockey, skating, tennis, baseball, swimming, and soccer.

ABC is currently accredited with Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). ABHE is comprised of 200 post-secondary institutions across North America, with an aggregate student enrollment of over 35,000 students. ABHE is also officially recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.

The PACE program can take 29 to 33 months depending on how the academic year is laid out. PACE is a year-long program from September to August with prescribed breaks.

The PACE counselling diploma is a great first step in the journey towards becoming an equipped people helper. If your goal is to have a private practice, please be advised you must have a minimum of a master’s degree in counselling psychology which first requires a bachelor’s degree. However, many community-based human services jobs require counselling education and some background experience; the PACE diploma offers students a solid foundation in people helping. For more information about this, please contact the Enrollment Office at admissions@abccampus.ca or 403.282.2994 ext. 230.

Class sizes always vary at Alberta Bible College dependent on the number of freshman enrolled. However, we believe that within our educational model it is imperative to keep the Professor to Student ratio high in order to provide discussion and dialogue based classrooms. Our classes range from 5 to 30 student classes allowing students the opportunity to get to know their Professor both in and out of class. Small class sizes also allow students to get to know their classmates more as well which facilitates a richer learning environment.

Alberta Bible College is affiliated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. These churches are generally known for a strong commitment to the Bible, they have a passionate concern for people who do not know Jesus Christ, and have compassion for people whose needs are severe. Though many of our students are affiliated with this fellowship, many students are from traditions as diverse as Anglican, Pentecostal, Baptist, Alliance, Mennonite, Lutheran and many others.

Alberta Bible College’s tuition is intentionally kept low because of our mission to equip students. We feel that if we were to raise tuition up, it would make it too difficult for students to attend and/or go into ministry after. We’re not equipping students for ministry if we’re loading them up with debt! Most of our students graduate with $2000 in debt or less – and that’s manageable. That said, our students only pay about 40% of what it costs for us to provide the education you would receive here. We have been blessed with amazing supporters who support the mission we feel we have been given and the students who we all believe have such great ministry potential. Isn’t it great to know that someone believes in you before you even show up here!

Many of our graduates go on to further studies to gain additional degrees (i.e. Master-level programs, Seminary studies, etc.). Depending on which type of program (certificate, diploma, or degree) was completed at ABC, some of the jobs obtained by our graduates include the following:

  1. working in the community at a non-profit agency (support staff, human services, social services, administration, etc.)
  2. working in parachurch or missional organizations (bible translator, administration, people helping, chaplaincy, etc.)
  3. working at churches (pastoral care, people helping, preaching, administration, support staff, youth ministry, family ministry, etc.)
  4. working at an educational institution (educational assistant, teaching, administration, support staff, etc.)
